A Weekend of New Beginnings and Meaningful Connections at Kindred
This past weekend was a big one for Kindred, filled with exciting milestones, new faces, and the kind of authentic connections that continue to define our community.
We kicked things off with the soft launch of our Under 50s group at Crawford's Social, hosted on their private patio. As expected for a first event, attendance was modest, with around 25 guests joining us. Much like the early days of our Over 50s group, women outnumbered men, something we have come to recognize as part of the natural rhythm, as men often take a little longer to warm up. What mattered most was the atmosphere, welcoming, relaxed, and full of potential. We introduced a few light icebreakers to help guests get to know one another, and the feedback was thoughtful and encouraging, with many expressing interest in more events to come.
One of the highlights of the evening was a wonderful show of support from seven members of our Over 50s group, who stopped by to welcome the new crowd and connect across age groups. It was a great reminder of the inclusive and supportive spirit that makes Kindred so special.
The momentum continued on Saturday with another soft launch, this time for Kindred San Fernando Valley, at Pineapple Hill Saloon & Grill. We were warmly welcomed by Angela Marsden, whose hospitality set the tone for a fantastic evening. The turnout was strong, and we were thrilled to see even some of Pineapple Hill’s regular patrons join the event and express interest in future gatherings. The vibe was friendly and engaging, with a slightly more mature tone and a clear focus on building genuine connections and friendships.
As we continue to grow, we are also evolving the experience. At upcoming events, we will be introducing new icebreakers designed to encourage more interaction and movement among guests, including a fun “Personality Match Game” we will be launching at our next gathering at Crawford’s Social.
What continues to stand out most is what happens beyond the events themselves. People are forming real connections, some even beginning to date, and that is exactly what Kindred is all about. These are not rushed or forced interactions, but natural relationships that develop over time and have the potential to be truly meaningful.
We are incredibly excited about what is ahead and grateful to everyone who continues to show up, support, and believe in the Kindred vision.
